Over the past few months I have been working with Brian and Aura Kubicki of the Costa Rican Amphibian Research Centre and to help facilitate a new environmental education initiative at the local primary school in Guayacan. This links in with a new project for us which also includes developing related environmental education for primary school children in Manchester.
Co-ordinated through Project Lemur Frog, and supported by the Faculty of Life Sciences and the Museum here at the University Manchester, the project is now in full swing and this week children from the school in Costa Rica visited the Costa Rican Amphibian Centre. Here Brian and Aura ran a special learning practical focused around the amphibians and biodiversity of the rainforest in the area. The day was a wonderful success and all the children had a great time and learning experience.
