Late last night my wife Tara and I arrived in Turrialba, Costa Rica, and were met by a chorus of noisy chirping geckos (Hemidactylus franatus). At the moment we are staying at the Turrialtico, a favourite place of mine in the central mountain range set high on a hillside overlooking the town. The views are just magical, and it feels so good to be back. This morning the geckos joined us again – literally dropping in for breakfast! 🙂
There are several species of gecko in Costa Rica, both nocturnal species and diurnal species, such as those of the genus Gonatodes. I am sure we will come across many on our travels in Costa Rica, as well as a great number of other wonderful creatures we look forward to sharing with you, in one way or another.. TARA’S PAGE
